1. If you do not know your Portal User Name and/or PIN, please call OIT Help Desk at 293-4444 (ext. 3) before you try to enter grades on-line. It is a good idea to check your WVU Portal access prior to entering grades on-line.

5. There are two ways to submit grades to STAR.
Choice #1: If you are using eCampus, you can submit grades from eCampus to STAR with a click of a button. Click on eCampus in the portal to go to the course you wish to submit grades. Instructions and FAQ’s are available at http://ecampusinfo.wvu.edu/faculty#gradesync .
Choice #2: Follow steps 6 to 11.

6. In the WVU Portal, select STAR (SSB) under the WVU Resources section located on the right side of the screen.

7. In SSB, select the Faculty & Advisors link.

8. At the next window, click the “Mid Term Grades” link.

9. At the next window, select the term of the course(s).

10. At the next window, select the CRN of the course you are going to enter grades for, then click “submit”.

11. Begin entering the grades for each student by clicking the box under the “grade” column and selecting the grades to be assigned. If a grade of “W” has already been assigned, it means that the student has withdrawn from the class and you cannot assign another grade for the student.

NOTE: You should be aware that using the wheel on the mouse (if it has one) to scroll down the page could change your assigned grade for a student. We recommend using the scroll bar on the side.

(Please note that there is a 20 minute time limit for each screen of 25 students. If it takes you more than 20 minutes to work that screen, click “submit” at the bottom of the screen to save your work. You can then continue to enter grades for the rest of the students. Click “submit” before you select the next list of 25 students by clicking “25-50”. You can also change the grade assigned to a student by selecting a new grade and click submit again.)

Listserv for Faculty and Staff

The Office of the University Registrar has created a new listserv to help distribute information from OUR to our faculty and staff partners in the colleges and departments. This list will be an excellent way to keep up to date on deadlines, process changes, and new initiatives. We will be mindful of your time and only send relevant information to you.

If you wish to subscribe to the LISTSERV list named Lagniappe, please send an email message to listserv@listserv.wvu.edu with this line in the body of the message:

subscribe lagniappe

The message should come from the email account to which you would like list postings to be sent. It’s helpful, though not essential, if you omit any signature from the message if you can.

PS: For those unfamiliar with the term, Lagniappe is a word used in the South (mostly Louisiana) that is a something extra given by way of good measure or for the good of the community.
